Story
BFT Ocean Grove has decided to fundraise for Safe Steps to raise awareness about domestic violence and to raise money to assist Safe Steps to continue their important work.
#One woman a week is murdered by her current or former partner.
#Family violence is the single largest driver of homelessness for women.
#We need to change these statistics through conversation and action.
It's time to talk more openly about domestic violence and the impacts it has on our community in order to create change. If you would like to support our fundraising efforts it would be amazing! Any donation, big or small, would be greatly appreciated!
We will be undertaking a 24 Hour Moveathon event from midday Friday 12th August 2022 until 12pm Saturday 13th August 2022.
As part of the challenge, two staff members, Steph & Ella, have committed to moving for the full 24 hours. The base activity will be the spin bike with our 3 bikes continuously moving for the 24 hours. There will be other activities scheduled across the 24 hours such as BFT regular sessions, and mini activity challenges.
So there are many ways you can get involved. You can volunteer to ride a spin bike alongside Steph and Ella or whilst they are completing other activities; you can buy a session or challenge for Steph and Ella to complete; you can donate goods and services to the raffle; and you can make a financial donation via this page.

safe steps Family Violence Response Centre
Safe Steps is the only 24/7 family violence response centre in Victoria, providing a state-wide entry point for victim-survivors of domestic and family violence. Safe Steps delivers programs at a state and national level. Our services include information and referral, crisis response, specialist family violence risk assessment, safety planning, andaccess to supported crisis accommodation. Our practice is trauma and violence-informed and guided by evidence. We provide services to all victim-survivors and recognise that most of our work is dedicated to the needs of women and children, which reflects the gendered nature of domestic and family violence.
